Kids Playgrounds get a face-lift
The Grass is Greener at Communities@Work Early Childhood Centres
In recent weeks several of the 10 Communities@Work Early Childhood Centres
have received face lifts thanks to the Department Disability, Housing and
Community Services through the organisational support service.
.
Greenway Early Childhood Centre children were delighted to see green grass shaded
by large autumn leaves in their outdoor yard. It has been a long time coming for the
children who have been learning about their environment, water usage and recycling
through their School Readiness Program which all Communities@Work centres
conduct for preschool age children.
.
Other Communities@Work centres through successful funding applications have
received soft fall for playgrounds. This has been a focus for Communities@Work
driven by the latest research and figures into the rising levels of childhood obesity.
Communities@Work operates 10 early childhood centres. Preschool age children
are engaged in school readiness programs, while children under three years are
engaged in a Birth to Three Framework which originates from Britain.
