Families

The Communities @ Work Family Support Unit (FSU) provides a range of services for families and individuals in the Tuggeranong and Weston Creek region. The FSU is guided by the overarching philosophy and policies of Communities @ Work and Community Programs. The FSU supports the vision of the Canberra Social Plan and particularly shares the view that “we must value and invest in our people as the ACT’s most precious asset”.

Participation in FSU programs is voluntary and seeking advice, assistance and information is viewed as a strength, The support provided is ‘relationship focussed’ and supports community members to develop skills in building and sustaining relationships within their home and community. It is also non-judgmental and community members are treated with respect, dignity and sensitivity, regardless of their circumstances and background. Families and individuals are treated as valued members of the community who have unique skills and life experiences.
