About the Role

As an Early Childhood Teacher, your role will be to develop, implement and evaluate an educational program based on contemporary early childhood theory. The Early Childhood Teacher will maintain a high standard of practice and demonstrate excellent communication skills working within a diverse team. Your knowledge of the National Quality Framework and active support of children's contribution to a play based learning environment that encourages and respects children's interests, strengths and abilities will see you do well in this role. 

You will work alongside the tight-knit team, the passionate Children's services manager, educational leadership team and the families to develop an appropriate program for individual children or groups of children in our care. This is an important role within our centres and proven leadership skills, energy and commitment to excellence in early education are a must.

Duties

  • Supervise and lead a team
  • Prepare and deliver a developmentally appropriate learning program
  • Ensure records are maintained for each child
  • Build relationships with families, employees, management, and the wider community.
  • Prepare, implement and evaluate interest based curriculum for children
  • Provide a safe, interactive and stimulating environment
  • Ensure records are maintained for each child
  • Record observation for individual children and groups of children for program planning and assessment of children's learning
  • Provide support to children with identified needs
  • Guide a team of educators
  • Maintain health & safety standards and guidelines

Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, ACECQA equivalent or working towards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Sound understanding of early childhood theory, curriculum planning and Early Years Learning Framework 
  • 'Working With Vulnerable People' registration or ability to obtain
