About the Role

Communities at Work is Canberra's largest Early Education and Care provider, operating numerous Child Care and Education Centres across Canberra, providing long day care services. Our childcare and education centres are dedicated to providing a safe, family-friendly environment that fosters children's wellbeing and inspires a love of learning.

We currently have an opportunity for a Centre Manager at Greenway Child Care & Education Centre.  

As a manager you will be guided and supported by the Director and Senior Manager of Children's Services to maintain a high standard of quality service delivery that is responsive to the needs of children and families, as well as embrace the Purpose, Mission, and Values of Communities at Work.

 

You will also work alongside the team of educators to support, inspire, motivate, encourage, and strengthen practices and pedagogy.  The position requires a proven understanding of the National Quality Frameworks, as well as National Law and Regulation.

 

Additionally, the Manager will have a strong understanding of the organisation's policies and processes, with the ability to apply this to the role every day. You will lead in all aspects of quality education and care and work with the Leadership Team to drive continuous quality improvement and best practice approaches.

 

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Minimum of Diploma of Children's Services and/or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
  • Demonstrated leadership and business management experience.
  • Experience in the delivery of high-quality Children Services.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, representational and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, flexibility, and resilience to respond promptly to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and keeping updated with the National Quality Frameworks, National Laws, and Regulations.
  • Aligns with the Purpose, Mission, and Values of Communities at Work.
  • Maintain current Working with Vulnerable People registration, First Aid certification and Mandatory Reporting requirements.

Desirable

  • Formal qualification in business management and/or leadership.
  • Experience in Community Services sector.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
