CPLE works collaboratively with student’s employers to ensure a streamlined study experience for everyone involved. We have developed a study model that is adaptative to both the student, and workplace needs.
We implement a ‘rolling intake’ model which means that your employees can enrol at any time throughout the year without having to wait for the start of a semester. We offer both online and face-to-face study options all of which include one-on-one support from your employee’s Trainer/Assessor. We can tailor our support model to suit the student and workplace needs.

How do we support our students?
When your employee enrols with us, they’ll be assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will support them for the duration of their qualification. This also means you will have a key point of contact to discuss your employee’s study progress.
Our flexible study options can be tailored to suit the student and the workplace:
- Option 1: Online: Study online via Canvas* with access to recorded webinars, interactive learning content, and online one-on-one meetings with your employee’s Trainer/Assessor. Your employee will also receive Workplace/Support Visits** from their Trainer/Assessor.
- Option 2: Hybrid (face-to-face and online): Study through a hybrid model that includes all the support from option 1, along with face-to-face study sessions. These sessions are offered on various days and times throughout the week, including weekdays and evenings. This flexibility allows you to choose the study session that best fits your workplace’s schedule for releasing your employee. Additionally, you can change study days each week, fortnight, or month to accommodate shifting rosters, ensuring a highly adaptable learning experience.
*Canvas:CPLE uses a Learner Management System called ‘Canvas’. ‘Canvas’ is where your employee will access all of the learning content and assessments required for their chosen qualification.
**Workplace/Support Visits:Both options include face-to-face support visits from your employee’s Trainer/Assessor every three months at their workplace. Since all CPLE qualifications involve practical assessments, these visits will allow the Trainer/Assessor to observe your employee for assessment completion purposes.
At the start of your employee’s enrolment, CPLE will assist you and your employee to decide which study model will suit best. Students can change study model options throughout their qualification as we know that people’s life circumstances change, along with workplace situations.
CASE STUDY
For example, at the start of their qualification, your employee might choose Option Two (hybrid model) and begin attending face-to-face study sessions once a fortnight on a Monday morning. Four months into the qualification, their work roster changes and they can no longer attend any day time study sessions. Your employee contacts their Trainer/Assessor who then arranges an online meeting with them once a fortnight until they’re able to start attending the face-to-face sessions again.
How much does it cost to study with CPLE?
CPLE has a current ACT Training Initiative Funding Agreement via Skills Canberra. This enables us to offer Government funded training depending on a student’s eligibility. CPLE also offers fee-for-service qualifications if a student does not meet the Government funding eligibility requirements.
User Choice Traineeship: (traineeships) funding is the most popular choice by employers as the student only pays a Student Administration Fee, and the Government funds the rest of the qualification. This option is available for both your new and existing permanent employees, depending on their eligibility (please refer to the Qualification Outlines regarding eligibility requirements).
Benefits of traineeships include:
- Trainees can continue working and earning an income while studying a nationally-recognised qualification
- Networking opportunities for trainees
- Training skills and knowledge to meet the needs of your business
- A cost-effective way of study with Government funding to subsidise the cost of training
- Financial incentives for both the trainee and employer, pending trainee eligibility
- Attainment of a nationally recognised qualification on successful completion of the training course
User Choice funding arrangements provide subsidised traineeships. User Choice is an initiative funded by the ACT and Australian Governments and is available to eligible learners who are undertaking a nationally recognised qualification. The User Choice funded training contract is initiated by an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) and is linked between the employer, trainee and registered training provider (in this case, CPLE).
