Seniors Newsletter

Even though our Seniors Centre activities may be suspended due to COVID-19, we’re making sure they still feel connected to us and each other. We have started a lovely Seniors newsletter, weekly check-in phone calls, popular and successful online video group chats, assisted shopping trips, and deliveries of produce from the vege gardens that many of our seniors had been cultivating.

Download the newsletter below to get a snapshot of our beloved Seniors, and to get an insight into what our Seniors Programs are all about!

COVID-19: Seniors Exercise Zoom Group

Zoom Exercise_Activities for Seniors_Communities@Work

We’re commencing a 5-week exercise group over Zoom from Tuesday 26 May. The group will be meeting on Tuesdays from 9 am to 10 am.

The exercises are very gentle and provided from a seated position. All classes are free. All participants need is a comfortable and supportive chair with a space of 1.5m x 1.5m and a device they can access zoom on. Our team will also help individuals get set up with Zoom if needed.

The exercise group is available to the current clients of Communities@Work Seniors & Transport services. If you’re not an existing client but would like to participate, a referral can be arranged via My Aged Care. Our team can assist with this process.

Praksis, a movement studio, that has been providing regular exercise classes at one of our Seniors Centres, will be leading our Zoom Exercise Group. They provide movement for longevity sessions, and dedicated classes and programs for seniors to help them realise their potential, get out of pain, rehabilitate old injuries, retain their youthfulness, enhance their vitality and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Anyone of any age can participate, regardless of what restrictions they may face, and everyone who participates reports experiencing benefits from their first class. Find out more about Praksis on their website.

Get in touch with us for more information and to sign up for the Zoom Exercise Group.
