Skilled Capital Funding
What is Skilled Capital Funding?
Skilled Capital* is an ACT Government funded training initiative offering a comprehensive range of services and subsidies to provide Canberrans the support they need to complete the training that is right for them. Skilled Capital offers an opportunity for the Canberra community to access quality training and fill critical skills needs areas.
This funding does not require a student to be permanently employed in any workplace. It is available to casual workers, self employed workers, and those not currently working.
Skilled Capital subsidised funding is released by the ACT Government with allocations to qualifications and the number of student places varying each year. Please speak with the CPLE team regarding availability of this type of funding for the sake of access and enrolment.

What CPLE qualifications can I access with this funding?
Currently Skilled Capital Funding is only available for the following CPLE qualifications, however places are limited and fill quickly so please contact CPLE as soon as possible to find out current availability:
CHC30121Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

How do I know if I’m eligible for Skilled Capital Funding?
To be eligible for Skilled Capital funding, you must, at the time of enrolment, be:
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand passport holder resident for more than 6 months, or
- An eligible visa holder, and
- Living or working in the ACT, and
- At least 17 years of age, and
- Not enrolled in or attending secondary school or college except where the student:
- is undertaking a course of study leading to completion of year 12 in an alternative program.
CPLE will assist you to identify if you are eligible for this funding.
NOTE: If you are not eligible for Skilled Capital Funding you can also choose to enrol as a fee-for-service student.
Are there any costs to enrol as a Skilled Capital student?
There is a one-off Skilled Capital Student Administration fee which is mandated by the Government. The cost differs depending on your chosen qualification. This fee covers all CPLE training and assessment services as the rest of the fees are covered via Skilled Capital Funding by the ACT Government. The current fees for each qualification are:
Payment Plans: Student Administration Fee payment plans are available to cater to varying financial situations. You will be required to select and sign a payment plan during the enrolment process. Please contact CPLE to discuss payment plan options as these differ depending on your chosen qualification.
