We implement a ‘rolling intake’ model which means that you can enrol at any time throughout the year without having to wait for the start of a semester. We offer both online and face-to-face study options all of which include one-on-one support from your Trainer/Assessor.
How do we support our students?
When you enrol with us, you’ll be assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will support you for the duration of your qualification. Your Trainer/Assessor will get to know you and your learning style, so they can adapt their support approach to meet your needs.
We offer flexible study options that we can tailor to meet each student, and their workplace needs. These options include:
- Option 1: Online: Study online via Canvas* with access to recorded webinars, interactive learning content, and online one-on-one meetings with your Trainer/Assessor. You will also receive Workplace/Support Visits** from your Trainer/Assessor.
- Option 2: Hybrid (face-to-face and online): Study via a hybrid model which includes all support from option 1, with the addition of face-to-face study sessions. These face-to-face study sessions are available on various days and times throughout the week (weekdays and evenings).
*Canvas: CPLE uses a Learner Management System called ‘Canvas’. ‘Canvas’ is where you will access all of the learning content and assessments required for your chosen qualification. At the start of your study journey, your Trainer/Assessor will teach you how to use this online system and support you to make the most of the learning content available.
**Workplace/Support Visits: Both options include face-to-face support visits from your Trainer/Assessor every three months at your workplace. If you are not currently employed, the visits will take place at a mutually agreed location. Since all CPLE qualifications require practical assessments, these visits provide an opportunity for your Trainer/Assessor to observe your skills for assessment purposes. Further details on assessment methods will be discussed below.
Which study model will suit you?
At the start of your enrolment, CPLE will assist you to decide which study model will suit you best. If you are employed, this decision will include consideration of your workplace too. You can also change study model options throughout your qualification as we know that people’s life circumstances change.
CASE STUDY
For example, at the start of your qualification, you might choose Option Two (hybrid model) and begin attending face-to-face study sessions once a fortnight on a Monday morning.
Four months into the qualification, your work roster changes and you can no longer attend any day time study sessions. You contact your Trainer/Assessor who then arranges an online meeting with you once a fortnight until you’re able to start attending the face-to-face sessions again.
CPLE prides itself on our ability to be flexible and ensure students always feel supported no matter what life challenges come your way. Your Trainer/Assessor will assist you to develop a study model that best suits your current needs and preferences.
How will you be assessed during the qualification?
Qualifications include a set of Units of Competencies that a student must demonstrate throughout their enrolment. For all of our qualifications, CPLE groups these units together based on topics – these topics are called ‘Modules’. Each module, contains carefully designed assessments to assist you to achieve success in the qualification, while gaining theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
When you enrol with CPLE, you will be assigned an Assessment Schedule which will outline when you will start and complete each ‘Module’ (topic). The online system, ‘Canvas’, and your Trainer/Assessor will assist you to complete your assessments.
CPLE uses a combination of assessment methods to ensure that all learning styles are considered. These methods include written knowledge checks, project-based tasks, role plays, and practical demonstrations. Our Trainer/Assessors also take the time to provide detailed feedback on your assessment submissions to ensure you always feel supported.
More information regarding assessment methods is included in the detailed outlines for each qualification.
