Understanding Learning Through the Theory of Schematic Play QA 1, QA 5

THIS SESSION IS FULL
Schematic play offers educators a theoretical understanding behind younger children’s play and exploration and provides you with understanding on how to further facilitate and plan for this learning.

Picture an infant or toddler sitting in a high chair and dropping their spoon to the floor… you pick it up and comment on how it is dirty and give them another spoon. The child then drops the new spoon to the floor straight away. As educators we have all seen something like this at one time or another. Is the child playing a game with you? Schematic play offers educators a theoretical understanding behind younger children’s play and exploration and provides you with understanding on how to further facilitate and plan for this learning.
