For over 40 years, Communities at Work have been committed to enriching the lives of people in the Canberra community and building better futures for tomorrow. Your gift will support our work to empower communities to make a long-term and lasting positive impact.

	Emergencies Communities at Work played a critical role in assisting Canberrans through the 2019-2020 Bushfire emergency and the recent COVID-19 crisis.		Disability Support Communities at Work supports over 60 people living with a disability through recreational and skills development programs.		Senior Support Communities at Work supports more than 150 senior Canberrans with their transport and social needs and with in-home services.
	Education Communities at Work supports more than 9,500 children and young people through Early Education and Care, Out of School Hours Care, School Holiday Programs, Family Day Care and In-Home Care, and through Galilee School, an independent school for disengaged and vulnerable young people in Years 7-12.		Training Communities at Work offers professional development and education for the education and care sector through their Registered Training Organisation		Essential Support Services Every year, Communities at Work supports more than 6,500 disadvantaged Canberra struggling with hardship through our food, clothing, accommodation and crisis support programs.
			Community Development Communities at Work partners with individuals, local government and businesses to implement initiatives that develop more connected communities.

How a gift in your Will can change lives

		Jordan-Jo knows first-hand the challenges of obtaining a school education through the mainstream school system when the odds are stacked against you. Living in a shelter with her mum and struggling with dyslexia, Jordon-Jo attended 10 high schools, at all of which she experienced bullying, before dropping out halfway through year nine. She thought her education was over. That’s when she discovered Communities at Work’s Galilee School. Thanks to Galilee School, Jordon-Jo, and other students like her, now have a hope for the future. 		Georgina is one of many older Canberrans who has experienced the loneliness and social isolation that can occur after losing a loved one. Georgina had dedicated her days to caring for her husband as he slowly declined from dementia. In 2016, when he passed away, Georgina struggled to cope with his death. One Tuesday, Georgina woke up and decided it was time to make a change. She remembered seeing a sign for Communities at Work’s Seniors Group and decided to visit them. Georgina was warmly welcomed to the group and, since then, she has gained valuable friendships.
