Our children’s services include Out of School Hours Care (Before and After School Care), Early Education and Care (Child Care) Centres, School Holiday Programs, Family Day Care and In-Home Care, across Canberra and the surrounding region.
Out of School Hours (Before and After School) Care
Communities at Work delivers high quality, engaging, inclusive and fun before and after school care through our 15 Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) services. Each of our OSHC sites has its own philosophy that makes it unique.
Early Education and Care (Child Care) Centres
Our educators are dedicated to leading practice and learning in early childhood education and care, and children across our 12 child care centres experience a wide variety of activities. Our focus is on play-based learning, environmental sustainability, inclusion and diversity, collaborative partnerships, community engagement, life skills and service quality.
School Holiday Programs
Our school holiday programs offer a huge selection of fun and engaging activities across 11 locations in Canberra each school holidays. Our qualified educators enable a safe and supportive environment where children make new friends, have fun with friends, and enjoy a diverse range of incursions, excursions and activities.
Family Day Care
Communities at Work’s coordination unit supports over 60 Family Day Care educators who are self-employed professionals, committed to children’s education. We ensure delivery of high-quality small-group education and care provided in educators’ own homes to almost 30 suburbs across Canberra and the surrounding NSW region.
Our In-Home Care educators offer early education and care services to children in families’ own homes, tailored to an individual family’s needs. Our In-Home Care educators are dedicated to leading practice in the early childhood sector. They have been praised for their passion, interest and connection to the children by the families accessing our services.
The activities and environments across our children’s services provide children with a range of structured and unstructured indoor and outdoor play opportunities, allowing them to develop complex narratives and scenes, bursting with creativity and critical thinking. We strongly align our practice with the National Quality Framework.
