WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT TO MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS

Mainstream schools don’t work for everyone.  Galilee School fills a unique niche by supporting the learning of teenagers who struggle in mainstream school environments. We offer a positive solution for young adults or their families looking for an alternative path to success.

  • We create a flexible learning program tailored to each student’s needs.
  • We specialise in smaller class sizes (1 to 5 staff to student ratio).
  • We help students develop their emotional and social skills.
  • We focus on building close relationships with students and families.
  • We provide authentic real-life training opportunities and job-ready support.
  • Our Senior Secondary College provides a much-needed pathway for disadvantaged students to get an ACT Senior Secondary (Year 12) Certificate.
  • We help former students to stay connected with the school and get help with career pathways, transition to work and work rights education.

Wondering about the difference Galilee School makes?

Here’s what some of our students said:
  • “Galilee is like no other school I’ve ever been to. This school has taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined. It’s made me a better person.”
  • “I realised I’d never truly had a home until I felt entirely safe and cared for here at Galilee.”
  • “You make me feel loved and accepted. Even on my worst days when I think the world is against me, you are always cheering me on.”
  • “You’ve given me hope. The world seems brighter, and I’ve found the sparkle you inspired.”
  • “You see people for their full potential, not for who they start as.”
  • “Thank you for never judging me or anyone else for their differences and problems. Just accepting me for who I am.”
  • “Our time here at Galilee School has been more than just classes and lunches; it’s been a collective experience of growth, friendship, and shared laughter. We’ve discovered the importance of teamwork, resilience, and the undeniable truth that laughter is indeed the best medicine.”
  • The friendships forged and the memories created here are the foundations upon which our futures are built.”
