Disability Services

We provide support for people living with a disability through in-centre programs, that focus on independent skill building in group-based environments, with supports appropriate to individual need. Our programs run in Tuggeranong and Gungahlin. We also operate from the Malkara Specialist School during the school holidays.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS provides funding to purchase a range of supports aimed at increasing your independence, inclusion, and social and economic participation. As an NDIS Provider, our disability support services are designed to be flexible and innovative.

Our service culture focuses on upholding human rights and fostering well-being, inclusion, safety, and quality of life for all people with a disability. Our range of disability support programs offers individual choice to build capacity and skills through workshops, activities, and community participation.

We offer disability programs specially targeted to school-aged children, teens, young adult and adults.

Accessing Our Services

  • If you have an NDIS Plan, you can access our services using your NDIS funds to participate in our programs.
  • If you do not receive funding under the NDIS, you can negotiate a Fee for Service arrangement with us to pay for the program and activities.
  • Please note that Rates for supports are charged in line with the NDIS price guide using TTP rates.

Disability Support for Children

Our Malkara Holiday Program is a school holiday service for children aged 5-12 years with a disability. The program provides children with opportunities to engage with other children and caters to their individual needs, interests and general well-being. This is undertaken in a fun, supportive environment.

Booking and Registration:

If you’re a NEW client and are booking into our Malkara School Holiday Programs for the first time, please register by submitting the Online Registration Form. If you are an EXISTING client (i.e. you have participated in our programs before), please use the online booking form.

NB: Spaces are limited in this holiday program. The booking form is your Expression of Interest and exact dates chosen are not guaranteed. Applications will be assessed according to needs, supports and capacity requirements, and an email sent to you to confirm available dates.

Times of operation:

Our Malkara School Holiday programs operate Monday to Friday each school holiday program (except Public Holidays) 8:30 am – 5:30 pm:

  • January: the beginning of the year for 3-4 weeks (closed in the last week of January Holidays)
  • April – both weeks
  • July – both weeks
  • October – both weeks

Disability Support for Teens

Our Teens Program is a social and recreational program for young people aged 12-18 who live with a disability. It provides opportunities to engage with other teens to develop and enhance their social skills and build peer networks.

There are two different disability support teens programs: After School Care Programs and Teens School Holiday Programs.

Times of operation:

Monday to Friday each school term 3 PM to 6 PM (Except Public Holidays).

Tuggeranong – South Hub: 43 Pitman St, Greenway

Please note: Transport from School to the Program may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis and may be dependent on school locations. We also recommend other options such as Kiers or Flexible Transport for those who we are unable to accommodate.

Young Adults and Adults Disability Support Programs

In our Young Adults as well as Adults Disability Support Programs, participants engage in whole-of life-programs tailored to suit individual’s goals whilst in a group setting. Independent Living Skills are the focus of the program with a mix of social and recreational activities to ensure a wider range of learning. Participants choose the activities that they would like to see within the disability support program and a monthly calendar is developed accordingly.

Please note that our Adults Disability Program only runs during school terms – a shutdown period occurs during school holiday times.

Our Young Adults Program is a post-school program for young adults with a disability. This program adopts a person-centred approach that is responsive to participants’ needs and wants.

Our Adults Program is an activities-based program for adults over the age of 30 years with a disability.  The program is focused on providing a friendly, supportive environment in which personal development and confidence can flourish.
