Teens After School Disability Program Enquiries
Our After-School Programs provide valuable opportunities for teens living with disability to engage with other teens and develop and enhance their social skills as well as build peer networks. We offer a range of social, recreational and life skill activities in a fun and supportive environment, with qualified and dedicated life skills educators (disability support workers).
Would you like to offer the young people in your life engaging after-school activities that provide an opportunity to have fun, make new friends, learn new skills, and build confidence? Then we invite you to submit an expression of interest with Communities at Work for our Teens After School Disability Program, targeted at 12-18-year-olds.
The Teens After School Disability Program runs Monday-Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at our South Hub (Tuggeranong) and we’re currently gauging interest to expand our programs to Gungahlin as well as potentially increase capacity at the program in Tuggeranong. Submitting your expression of interest will help us make important operational decisions pertaining to the program, and also get in touch with you to discuss your needs and the supports available.
Please fill out the form below to submit your interest and a member of the Disability Programs team will be in touch!
Alternatively, you can contact the team by emailing disability@commsatwork.org or calling (02) 6293 6251.
Guided by the interests of clients and families, we’ve created theme days throughout the week to explore a range of diverse topics and ensure there’s something for everyone, at our Teens After School Disability Programs:
- Masterchef Monday (cooking and gardening)
- Art & Tech Tuesday (art and technology skills)
- Workout Wednesday (fitness, movement, healthy lifestyle & healthy mind)
- Think about it Thursday (hobbies, homework, trivia, STEM etc)
- Funky Beats Friday (music, dance, instruments & singing)
