Community Minibus Service in Canberra
Our Community Minibus Service provides free, flexible community transport across Canberra, to help people stay connected, active and involved in community life. The service supports seniors, people experiencing isolation, and community groups who find it difficult to use other transport options. Individual and group bookings are available.
The service is part of our Community Development Program and supports participation, connection and wellbeing across Canberra.
What Our Minibus Service Does
We operate two minibuses, offering a responsive and coordinated community transport service designed to meet local needs.
Those we support through this service include:
- Seniors
- People who are socially isolated
- Community and neighbourhood groups
- People with limited access to public or private transport
We also work closely with other community transport providers to improve service efficiency and provide back-up support during busy periods or when buses are unavailable.
Main uses of the Community Minibus
We aim to help people get to where they need to go, safely and comfortably. Our minibuses are most commonly used for:
- Community group outings and social activities
- Transport to programs, appointments, shopping centres and events
- Seniors’ group activities
- Supporting other community transport providers during peak demand or bus outages

Minibus capacity and cost
Our community minibus seats 12 passengers and can accommodate walkers, as well as one wheelchair user.
The cost for this service is free.

Service areas and hours
Our community minibus service operates Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays and evenings.
We primarily operate in Gungahlin, Tuggeranong and Weston, but we can service other suburbs within the ACT to address unmet need.
This service is only available in the ACT.
