Community (Food) Pantries Re-Opening in Tuggeranong and Gungahlin

The Community Pantries at Communities@Work are re-opening after a suspension due to COVID-19 – just in time for the pre-Christmas surge in demand.

Communities@Work food pantry

Our Communities@Work Community Pantries have been an essential support service for the community for many years, providing basic food, household and personal care items for people who are struggling or experiencing hardship – perhaps for the first time due to the impact of COVID-19.

  • Our Gungahlin Community Pantry reopens from 23 November.
  • Our Tuggeranong Community Pantry reopens from 1 December.

Opening hours for both the Community Pantries are:

  • Mondays 12.30 – 3 pm
  • Tuesdays – Fridays 9.00 am – 11.30 am; 12.30 pm-3 pm.

We have expanded both pantries into new locations within our two community centres, providing improved services and a more user-friendly experience for clients.

In addition to our pantry service, Communities@Work will also continue providing free food hampers, packaged by the Canberra Relief Network team, and crisis support appointments.
