Op Shop Best Dressed Store Reopening from 4th July
Communities@Work The Best Dressed Store is set to reopen on the 4th of July. The Canberra Op Shop is back with high quality pre-loved men's and women's clothing, accessories and shoes in Tuggeranong.

We’re excited to announce that our very own Op Shop in Canberra, located in South.Point Tuggeranong, the Best Dressed Store, will once again open its doors to customers from Saturday 4 July. Our Best Dressed Store is an upmarket op-shop that provides men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, primarily for work.
Items include a full range of men’s and ladies’ clothing, including coats, blouses, shirts, dresses, pants, and suits. Accessories include shoes, bags, jewellery, ties and scarves. Prices start from as little as $5.
The stock for the Best Dressed Store comes from community and business donations – from government departments and private companies organising donation drives at work places, to everyday individuals dropping off clothes at one of our clothing donation collection points. About 15% of the stock on average is also brand new.
Trevor Gilbertson, Manager for our Clothing and Retail Programs, explains, “ We pride ourselves on the fact that the clothing we have in the shop is either brand new or almost new. We have some brand new clothing coming in with the swing tags still attached. That’s one of the keys of the niche market that we operate in – it enables us to maintain a really high standard of quality and product.”

The Best Dressed Op Shop relies on the support of many passionate volunteers, who do a variety of important jobs including collection and sorting of clothing, sales and service.
Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the store had to suspend its operations alongside volunteering for the last few months. However, now that restrictions are easing, our Best Dressed Store is ready to resume operations with increased hygiene and physical (social) distancing practices.
We have made some changes in the shop with a focus on “Safety First ” to support our customers and volunteers. This includes an entry and exit to the shop, the closure of changing rooms, stationing of hand sanitisers at various spots, a perspex screen at the front counter, and implementation of appropriate distancing guidelines.

- Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays: 10 AM to 4 P
- Tuesdays: 1 PM to 4 PM
- Fridays: 10 AM to 7 PM
