OUR PROGRAMS:
Communities at Work offers School Holiday Programs across Canberra. Our programs focus on fun and delivering a new adventure every day for your child. They include:
Excursions (visits to fun locations)
In-Service Event (visits from external activity providers to the schools)
SHP Day activities (a diverse range of flexible and adaptable activities run by our educators, and based on children’s choice).
To learn more, check our calendars by clicking on your preferred school location below.
The programs run from 7:30 am to 6 pm on weekdays during the school holidays (except for Emmaus, which opens from 8 am). All locations cater to children in preschool to Year 6 (except for Amaroo and Emmaus School Holiday Program, which are unable to accept preschool-aged children, and Isabella Plains, which caters to children from preschool to Year 2).
Some of the great activities we offer:
✅ Questacon: Children will explore a world of interactive science, packed with exciting exhibits and jaw-dropping discoveries.
✅ Gecko: Jump into Gecko’s First Nations Games and explore traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games inspired by the Yulunga resource.
✅ Limelight – Toy Story 5 (PG): Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the whole gang are back for their biggest adventure yet as they face off against Lilypad, a brand-new tablet with plans of her own for Bonnie’s playtime.
✅ Mini Music: A NAIDOC-theme music session. Children will explore song, movement, and percussion, and be introduced to live orchestral instruments.
✅ Ninja Parc: Unleash your inner ninja at Ninja Parc, the ultimate adventure zone for movement and high-energy fun.
✅ Child Players ACT: Cat in the Hat: Children will enjoy a hilarious production filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of mischievous surprises.
✅ Integrity Taekwon-Do: Children will build on their Taekwon-Do skills through discipline, respect, and self-defence.
✅ Chemical Rocket & Magnetic Cars: Get ready for an action-packed adventure featuring chemical rockets and magnetic car races, where children will explore forces, motion and states of matter.
… and lots more!
