Ngunnawal Child Care & Education Centre
At Ngunnawal Child Care & Education Centre, children are supported to learn, explore and build strong connections with their community. Located within the grounds of Ngunnawal Preschool and Primary School, our service provides welcoming, vibrant and flexible learning environments that respond to the individual and culturally diverse needs of each child.
Supporting wellbeing, confidence and learning for Canberra Region children and families.
As a local not-for-profit organisation, we have a long-standing reputation for supporting families with integrity and care. Every enrolment helps us give back to the Canberra community, supporting Communities at Work programs and services that assist local people and families.
Children are welcomed into a secure learning environment where safety, wellbeing and belonging come first. Our educators support each child’s social, emotional and learning development, helping them feel confident and successful.
Why families choose Ngunnawal Child Care & Education Centre
Our location within the grounds of Ngunnawal Preschool and Primary School helps children build connections with the school community and supports a smoother transition into the primary school environment.
Learning extends beyond the centre through excursions, storytelling sessions, cultural programs and community initiatives such as Lids4Kids. These experiences give children opportunities to explore their local community, learn about sustainability and develop an understanding of how their actions can make a positive difference.
Sustainability and caring for the environment are embedded in everyday learning. Children take part in experiences such as planting seeds, growing food and caring for plants, helping them understand where food comes from and the importance of looking after the natural environment. Produce grown at the service is shared with children, families and educators and used within the service.
We also celebrate the cultural and linguistic diversity of our community. Children are introduced to different ways of communicating, including Auslan and/or visual communication, while the diverse languages and cultural knowledge of our educators help create an environment where different identities and experiences are valued.
