Christmas – Giving Tree Toolkit host-a-giving-tree

This toolkit is full of tips and resources to help you promote your virtual or traditional donation drive to support struggling families and individuals in Canberra this Christmas.

VIRTUAL GIVING TREE

Place a web link to our donations page (www.commsatwork.org/donate) on your organisation’s website, in an email, in a newsletter, on your social media pages, or pretty much anywhere you like. You can also share a QR code (available in the toolkit) in any printed materials for people to scan and donate!

If you have registered with us as a Virtual Giving Tree Host (using the get in touch form here) we will also set up a personalised section for your workplace/shop/community space/organisation on our donation portal for your people to donate through! Details in the Guidelines (see toolkit resource 01 below).

TRADITIONAL GIVING TREE

Host a traditional giving tree (donation drive) to collect food, gifts or both (note: we are always short of gifts for teenagers and adults, so we’d love it if you could encourage these age groups). Please refer to our list of items we need when requesting donations (you can download them below). Don’t forget to register as a Giving Tree Host using the get in touch form here. Once your donations are collected, please drop them off at our Tuggeranong or Gungahlin centres, or our Holder office (details in the Toolkit).

Use the drop-down below to access the toolkit resources, and don’t forget to register as a Giving Tree Host.

Resources in the Toolkit

Decide what type of donation drive you want to have and then download the appropriate poster to place in your workplace/community space and spread the word about your Giving Tree:

There’s space at the bottom of the posters to include the location of your Giving Tree or any other instructions.

The donation tags can be printed and handed out or hung on your Christmas tree! All anyone has to do is scan the QR code on the tag and they’ll be able to donate directly to Communities at Work!

Click here to download the printable donation tags.

Printing instructions: Print double-sided, preferably on a heavy-weight paper or card stock. Trim the tags using the red line provided as a guide and punch a hole in the circle at the top. Attach strings to hang them on your giving tree, or distribute to visitors to collect.

Alternatively, you can send us an email at marketing@commsatwork.org and we’ll send you a printed bundle of tags ready to use!

LOGOS:

If you decide to develop your own campaign assets, we’re happy for you to do so! We just request that you add the Communities at Work logo to your assets so that people immediately it’s our Christmas Appeal that they’re donating to!

Please contact us at marketing@commsatwork.org if you wish to obtain the logo in EPS format.
