Family Day Care is on a winning streak again.

The Family Day Care industry is excitingly gearing up for the annual Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.

We are proud to announce that three of our educators, Leesa Schwass (pictured right) from the Goulburn & Southern Tablelands region, Yuan Zhuo from North Canberra and Kathleen Rampant (pictured left) from South Canberra have been selected as regional winners and will be contenders for the state champions .

Leesa has been with Communities@Work for over two years now. She is our first NSW educator to be nominated in the awards. She is passionate about nature-based play, sustainable practices and is committed to building the status of Family Day Care as a profession.

Yuan has been an educator with Communities@Work for over 7 years and is passionate about providing a bilingual program for families and children and engaging children in music as a learning tool.

And Kathleen has been working as an educator with Communities@Work for over 10 years. Her passion is her pedagogy in sustainable practices, learning through play and nature-based activities and fostering children’s independence.

This year, Family Day Care Australia received over 25,000 nominees for the awards, making it an extra special achievement to be named regional winners.

The state winners and the national service of the year will be announced at the end November at the annual awards held in Melbourne. Representatives from the Family Day Care team will make a trip to Melbourne to attend the special night, along with CEO, Lorcan Murphy and Executive Officer for Children Services and Professional Learning, Carolyn Cousins.

Our Family Day Care service has been named the National Service of the Year for three years in a row now. We couldn’t be more proud of their achievements and their commitment to supporting and enhancing the delivery of quality care and education across the ACT.
