Communities at Work launches Christmas Appeal to help those in need

Our Christmas Appeal runs from late October to mid-December urging Canberrans to show their support for vulnerable and disadvantaged Canberrans every year.

Communities at Work Christmas Appeal 2021

Christmas and the festive season can be a particularly distressing time for many of these individuals and families as they face higher pressures than usual to put food on their tables and give gifts to their loved ones.

We have launched our Christmas Appeal earlier in October this year, as time is of the essence. The sooner we can start collecting donations, it helps us manage demand and ensure that no one misses out during Christmas. We support families with Christmas food and gifts throughout December so the earlier support can pour in, the better!

Now, we appeal once again to the generosity of Canberrans. Whether you’re an individual, business, workplace, community group, school or shop, help us help those in need this Christmas and bring joy to them.

If you are a group. you can host a virtual giving tree and collect financial donations online, which will be used to purchase food/gifts for those struggling. Or you can host a traditional giving tree and collect donations of non-perishable food and new gifts that we will distribute to those in need. Whichever way you choose to register your support, it will make a difference.

Or if you are an individual and don’t wish to fundraise, you can simply donate financially online, or even personally shop your gifts/food donations online and get them delivered to us. Every little bit counts.
