Supporting Elder Abuse Awareness Day
Communities at Work's Seniors team will be at Cooleman Court on 15 June 2022 to provide information and create awareness around the issue of elder abuse.
Elder abuse is any act that causes harm to an older person. The harm can be physical, social, financial, psychological, or sexual in nature, and can include mistreatment and neglect.
The World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15th every year) is a day officially recognised by the United Nations (UN) to highlight the issue of elder abuse and raise our voice in opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted on some of our older generations.
Communities at Work is proud to show our support and do our part in raising awareness around this important issue to support the older people living in our community, and we encourage people, businesses and other organisations to join us in helping build safer communities for our older citizens.
Anyone is welcome to drop by at our pop-up at Cooleman Court on the 15th of June, 10 am to 2 pm. Our team will be providing a neutral environment for a sensitive and compassionate chat.
Pop-Up Location: Cooleman Court Shopping Centre, Weston Creek (in between Baker’s Delight and Coffee Guru)
