Celebration of Families - FREE festival
The seventh annual Celebration of Families festival will be held on Saturday 10 May from 11:00am to 3:00pm on the foreshores of Lake Tuggeranong (near the Tuggeranong Community Centre).
The festival is a free event and an opportunity for all families to have a social day out without placing any stress on the family budget. This year's rides include tea-cup rides, pony rides, a super slide, patting farm and a baby jumping castle, along with musical entertainment, activities, information and food stalls. Lots for all ages to do and see!
This year's event will also officially launch National Families week in the ACT.

Join the Celebrations at the ACT Children's Services Awards
On 9 May 2008 the ACT Children's Services Awards will celebrate the hard work, professionalism and commitment of those working in the children's services sector in the ACT. Over 70 professionals and volunteers from Centre Based Care, Occasional Care, School Age Care, Family Day Care and In-Home Care services have been nominated for a variety of Awards. Winners will be announced at the Gala Awards evening to be held at the National Museum of Australia on Friday 9 May 2008 at 7pm. The evening will include a three course sit down dinner, the presentation of Awards and entertainment.

SuperGrands
If you enjoy meeting people, have a sense of humor and have 1-3 hours a week to spare, come and join our team of SuperGrands!
SuperGrands are volunteers who share their lifelong knowledge and experience with young parents and families. They provide one on one mentoring in skills such as household budgeting, easy healthy meals, organising the home and routines, gardening and home maintenance.
FREE training and ongoing support is provided. As part of the volunteers team, SuperGrands receive regular newsletters and invitations to social get togethers.
